ITN’s SERVICE ALSO INCLUDES 3 PILOTS Corporate Users Check Mail

During the past 5 years ITN pioneered extraordinary service levels delivered throughout Namibia, irrespective of the vast distances we have to travel to accomplish these tasks in our beautiful country.

Says Barney Harmse, CEO of the Internet Technologies Group “We believe that more than 40% of the Namibian corporate market places their trust in ITN to deliver world-class IP (Internet Protocol) related services into their networks. This may include Internet products, WAN products (connecting your branches on our Wide Area Network via MPLS VPN’s), Network Security Products, National and International Satellite Services, Local and National Wi-Max products, to name only a few”.

“Due to the long distances we have to travel and the remoteness of some of the areas we service, ITN decided to sign up two additional employees for pilot training here in Namibia. Hannes Siebert joined ITN with an existing pilot’s license, which brought the final total eventually to 3 pilots” Harmse added.

“The fact that ITN is part of only a handful Namibian licensed operators on Satellite and Wi-Max systems, keeps us extremely busy. Because we own and maintain a very well populated national presence on all the technologies, the natural decision was to train more employees as pilots in the company in an effort to reach our destinations and our customer sites promptly”.

Harmse further elaborated “ITN then also made the decision that in case a High Level SLA customer (Service Level Agreement customer) may require emergency maintenance on his Network anywhere in Namibia, even if it is NOT a direct ITN responsibility, ITN will still fly the customer to his site at NO extra cost to the customer.”

“ITN’s passion is service excellence to the Namibian Market. Our objective is to deliver the highest possible service levels by any means possible”.

“So far we have executed emergency tasks in some of the most remote regions of our country. Some of these places are not very well known to the general public, yet we can serve customers in these remote areas. If there is a runway in that area (majority are gravel runways in Namibia) we will fly there and complete our mission in record time.” Harmse concluded.

ITN launched its second Earth Station on Friday, 17 October 2008. As part of this launch, ITN decided to have a competition in which we invited the corporate market to name the Earth Station.

The response to this competition was overwhelming and hundreds of entries were received both via SMS and e-mail. Although there were many good suggestions there can unfortunately be only one winner. Madryn Cosburn of One Africa Television was selected as the winner with his name of “OMAJOWA” and walks away with cash prize of N$ 5,000-00. ... read more
